Scholarship Terms & Conditions

This guideline is for the following programs offered by The Equality Project®:

  • Scholarships under the Better Together® Training Academy initiative;

  • Scholarships to participate in the Better Together® LGBTIQA+ Conference;

  • Any other symposium or event where a scholarship to participate is offered.

Mission

Our mission is to bring equity within the LGBTIQA+ community by providing access to our learning programs and events. We want to achieve this by making our initiatives affordable and accessible to individuals who may not normally be able access these programs.

As a health promotion charity, The Equality Project® is dedicated to ensuring that a minimum of 20% of attendees for all our public learning programs, events and initiatives, where applicable, receive scholarships, whether full or partial.

A scholarship constitutes the following:

  • A discounted registration fee that is approximately 30-70% off the full fee.

  • The Equality Project® reserves the right to waive the discounted fee on a case by case basis. This may apply in instances of genuine hardship.

  • Individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander are eligible for 100% full fee coverage.

What it does not cover:

A scholarship does not cover any travel and accommodation costs.

Who is eligible?

All Australian residents 18 years old and over are eligible to apply for a scholarship. Individuals who have a temporary visa, refugee visa, reside in Australia, and can attend our events (in person) are also eligible to apply. Please note that individuals residing outside of Australia are not eligible for these scholarships. Additionally, The Equality Project® is not responsible for, nor equipped to assist with, visa applications or related matters for international participants.

Presenters at the Better Together® conference are eligible for a scholarship registration.

Who is not eligible?

Our scholarship program is not available to people who reside outside of Australia.

If you have already purchased a registration to any of our events prior to applying for a scholarship, you will not be eligible.
